Itinerary

Hotel Pickup

The tour begins with pickup from your hotel in the La Fortuna area. The duration of this pickup will depend on the location of your hotel, but it generally takes between 15 and 30 minutes to pick up all participants.

Transfer to the Trailhead

Once everyone is on board, we will transfer to the trailhead leading to La Fortuna Waterfall. The vehicle journey takes approximately 10-15 minutes.

Start of the Hike (Descent)

We begin the descent along the trail towards the waterfall. This journey, which includes approximately 500 steps, takes between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on the group's pace and stops to observe nature and take photographs. We will take our time to enjoy the surroundings and admire the flora and fauna.

Time at La Fortuna Waterfall

Once at the base of the waterfall, you will have free time to enjoy the place. This includes swimming in the refreshing waters, relaxing on the riverbanks, taking photographs, and simply admiring the beauty of the surroundings. This part of the tour lasts approximately 1 hour.

Return Hike (Ascent)

After enjoying the waterfall, we begin the return ascent. This journey usually takes a little longer than the descent, between 30 and 45 minutes, due to the physical effort involved in climbing the steps. Again, we will make stops to rest and enjoy the landscape.

Transfer back to Hotel

Once we reach the trailhead, we will transfer back to your hotels. The journey takes approximately 10-15 minutes.

Immerse Yourself in the Adventure of the Rainforest Trail

The journey to the waterfall is an adventure in itself. A well-maintained trail, which includes approximately 500 steps, winds through a dense rainforest. As you descend, the sound of the falling water becomes increasingly loud, creating exciting anticipation. The path is designed to be accessible, with strategically located rest areas so you can take a breather, admire the landscape, and capture memorable photographs. These stops also offer the opportunity to observe local fauna, from colorful tropical birds to, hopefully, a sloth resting on the branches.

Admire the Majesty of the Waterfall and Refreshing Natural Pools

Upon reaching the base of the waterfall, you are surprised by an impressive spectacle. The force of the falling water generates a refreshing breeze and an atmosphere full of energy. The natural pool at the foot of the waterfall invites you to a revitalizing dip in its crystalline waters. For those looking for a more tranquil experience, there are calmer areas along the river where they can relax and enjoy the serene environment. Imagine swimming surrounded by the jungle, with the constant sound of the waterfall in the background; it is an experience that deeply connects you with nature.

Contribute to the Conservation of a Natural Treasure

By visiting La Fortuna Waterfall, you directly contribute to the well-being of the local community and the protection of this valuable ecosystem. This connection between tourism and conservation adds significant value to the experience.
