Itinerary

  1. 8:00 AM — Hotel pickup

    Pickup at your La Fortuna hotel. Drive to the stables takes 15 to 25 minutes.

  2. 8:30 AM — Horse assignment and briefing

    The guide pairs you with a horse based on your height, weight, and experience. Briefing on basic Western-saddle riding technique in English or Spanish.

  3. 9:00 AM — Ride to the waterfall trailhead

    Approximately one hour on horseback through rural pasture and secondary rainforest. Mostly walking pace; safe for beginners.

  4. 10:00 AM — Hike down to La Fortuna Waterfall

    Dismount at the trailhead and descend 530 stone stairs to the base of the 70-meter waterfall. Time at the pool for photos and an optional swim.

  5. 11:00 AM — Hike back up and return ride

    Climb back up the stairs and remount for the one-hour ride back to the stables.

  6. 12:00 PM — Return to hotel

    Transport back to your hotel, arriving by approximately 12:30 PM.
