Fortuna Expeditions Guide's Perspective

Itinerary

  1. Pickup (Start)

    We will pick you up at your hotel in the La Fortuna area. The exact time will be coordinated according to the location of your hotel, generally between 7:30 a. m. and 8:00 a. m.

  2. Transfer to the PeƱas Blancas River (20-25 min)

    A transfer by vehicle will take place to the starting point at the PeƱas Blancas River. The trip is short and offers views of the beautiful rural landscape of the region

  3. Safety Talk and Equipment (10-15 min)

    Upon arrival at the starting point on the river, bilingual (English/Spanish) naturalist guides will give a safety talk and explain paddling techniques. Necessary equipment will be provided: life jacket and paddle.

  4. Floating Safari on the PeƱas Blancas River (2 hours)

    You will enjoy a relaxing descent down the PeƱas Blancas River, where you will be able to observe the flora and fauna of the surrounding rainforest. You will have the opportunity to look for monkeys, sloths, birds and reptiles.

  5. Snack in the rural area (30-45 min)

    At the end of the descent, you will be in a very rural visit a traditional Costa Rican house to enjoy a typical snack and learn about the local culture.

  6. Return to La Fortuna (20-25 min)

    Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel in La Fortuna.
