About this drive
At roughly one to one and a half hours, this is the shortest airport transfer we run, which is part of why Tamarindo is the most accessible beach destination in the country. The road from Liberia is well maintained the whole way. Tamarindo is a surf town on the northern Pacific coast: the main break is sandy-bottomed with no reef, the waves reform in long gentle sections and the water stays near 27 degrees year-round, which makes it one of the better places in Costa Rica to learn. Arriving by private transfer means you are at the hotel with the afternoon still ahead of you.
